America 250 Ledyard T-Shirts
This Ledyard America 250 T-shirt honors one of Connecticut’s most important and enduring stories—the Indigenous roots and early foundations of America.
Long before 1776, the land now known as Ledyard was home to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, whose history spans thousands of years. This design recognizes that America’s story did not begin with independence but with the people, cultures, and communities that shaped the land long before the nation was formed.
Ledyard is also named for Colonel William Ledyard, a Revolutionary War officer who gave his life during the Battle of Groton Heights in 1781. Together, these histories reflect the full arc of early America—from Indigenous life, through colonial conflict, to the fight for independence.
Designed as part of the America 250 celebration, this tee is made for everyday wear while carrying lasting meaning.
